Minister highlights Indonesia's flagship export products in China

Trade Minister Enggartiasto Lukita stated during a limited interview in Shanghai, China,Tuesday.

Shanghai, China (ANTARA) - Trade Minister Enggartiasto Lukita believes that Indonesia's superior products have the opportunity to meet the export demand in a bid to minimize the trade balance.

"If we speak about trade universally, what are the commodities from Indonesia that have added value," Trade Minister Enggartiasto Lukita remarked at a limited interview in Shanghai, China, on Tuesday.

Minister Lukita noted that one of the commodities that can become a main product, in this case, is swallow's nest, wherein Indonesia has emerged as the world's largest producers.

With such a plethora of benefits, he noted that the price of one kilogram of swallow's nest reaches Rp25 million. This figure is viewed as being quite high and has the potential to boost Indonesia's export performance.

Nevertheless, Minister Lukita is optimistic of investments trickling into Indonesia to process swallow nests into various value-added products.

In the meantime, other commodities that are also Indonesia's main products are crude palm oil, rubber, and some mining products.

Moreover, Indonesia has mining products, comprising nickel, ore, copper, gold, and coal.

Tropical fruits, ranging from mangoes, rambutans, and pineapples, to dragon fruit have currently been exported to several countries.

In fact, some fruits produced in the country have become a cue for other countries to be developed by applying qualified agricultural technology.

To this end, Lukita is optimistic of investments coming in to make value-added commodities from Indonesia, particularly cater to the export demand. Related news: Minister Enggartiasto visits Beijing main market
