"The visit of the Japanese Ambassador to Makassar was to observe the octopus processing equipment directly after we partnered with Japanese company Ajirushi, Inc. since 2015,"Makassar (ANTARA) - Japanese Ambassador to Indonesia Masafumi Ishii observed the production machine for processing octopus at the Makassar branch office of.state-owned fishery company PT Perikanan Nusantara (Persero). PT Perikanan Nusantara is using the technology of Japan for processing octopus.
"The visit of the Japanese ambassador to Makassar was to observe the octopus processing equipment directly after we partnered with Japanese company Ajirushi, Inc. since 2015," PT Perikanan Nusantara (Persero) Managing Director M Yana Aditya said in Makassar, capital of South Sulawesi province, Tuesday.
The visit of the Japanese ambassador and his wife was a follow-up to the Indonesian and Japanese trade cooperation in the field of marine products that has been going well, Aditya said.
PT Perikanan Nusantara is working with its partner Ajirushi, Inc. known for processing marine products for consumption such as octopus, squid and shrimp for the Japanese market, he said.
"Our company is one of the suppliers of octopus for Ajirushi Inc. with production that meets the standards and quality of products in Japan so that it can be accepted by the market in Japan," he added.
The export volume of PT Perikanan Nusantara (Persero) to Japan has reached 250 tons up to the first semester of 2019, equivalent to US$1,436,859.
"The visit of the Japanese ambassador shows that the cooperation will continue. We will increase the cooperation with Japanese partner companies," Aditya stated.
The Japanses ambassador admitted that he was very happy to witness the processing before the octopus was sent to his country .
PT Perikanan Nusantara (Persero) is a company from the merger of four state-owned companies engaged in fisheries, namely PT Perikani (Persero), PT Usaha Mina, PT Tirta Raya Mina (Persero) and PT Fisheries Samodra Besar (Persero).
"The presence of this company supports national food security," Aditya affirmed.
