Jakarta (ANTARA) - Gerindra's central executive board here, Saturday, refuted claims of the party's leader Prabowo Subianto having proposed concepts on food security, energy security, and managing state-owned enterprises (SOEs) while joining the Joko Widodo-Ma'ruf Amin coalition parties.
"Gerindra does not offer the concepts to the Joko Widodo-Ma'ruf Amin coalition parties. On the contrary, Prabowo is requested to give his inputs on how to improve the nation's condition," Gerinda Party Deputy Secretary General Andre Rosiade stated.
Prabowo had laid out his concepts on food and energy security as well as managing SOEs at his recent separate meetings with incumbent President and President-elect Joko Widodo and leader of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) Megawati Soekarnoputri, he noted.

At the recent meetings, Subianto’s opinions and inputs were sought on ways to improve Indonesia's future condition, Rosiade noted, adding that the Great Indonesia Movement (Gerindra) Party was keen to contribute to Indonesia's development.
"Our main point is that we are keen to contribute to the national development. We offer our contribution either by staying within or outside the government," he stated.
If the Gerindra concepts on food and energy security as well as managing SOEs could be adopted and applied together along with the government's coalition parties, this Prabowo Subianto-led party was willing to stay within the government, he explained.
However, if the concepts fail to find an audience with the Jokowi-Amin administration, Gerindra would remain outside the government since ensuring that Indonesia had a strong government in future was this party’s main prerogative, he stated.
"If Gerindra joins the government's coalition, we will assist, but if we stay outside it, we are going to become a good and constructive partner," Rosiade noted.
Subianto has been getting increasingly closer to PDIP leader Megawati Soekarnoputri over these past few weeks.
After meeting Soekarnoputri at her residence in Jakarta on July 24, he was invited by PDIP to be its honorable guest at the opening ceremony of its national congress in Bali Island this week.
On July 13, Prabowo, who had tasted defeat in the 2019 Presidential Elections, met with his former contender, Jokowi, at the MRT Station of Lebak Bulus in South Jakarta and continued their conversation while boarding Jakarta's brand new MRT.
