Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesian government and House of Representatives (DPR) had endorsed 15 bills since Aug 2018 to July 2019, President Joko Widodo stated in his annual state speech delivered before the parliamentary members at the legislative complex, Friday morning.

"In term of running its legislative function, DPR along with Indonesian government have launched 15 bills, including the bill of international cooperation, the hajj bill, as well as the sciences and tech acceleration bill. These bills were aimed to support the developments in the country," the president stated.

Aside from highlighting dozens of bills, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) also highlighted the House’s contribution to setting up 35 task forces that were assigned to monitor the government works in various sectors.

“One among 35 task forces is the Working Team on Evaluating Simultaneous Elections in 2019. This task force was aimed to improve the quality of the next presidential and legislative elections,” Jokowi stated.

Meanwhile, in term of budgeting, the president lauded the House's move on approving the Rp70 trillion Village Fund Budget in 2019. "This fund budget has improved the livelihoods and welfare of the people in the villages," the president said.

Not only addressing the House's roles, but the president also mentioning some moves imposed by the People's Consultative Assembly and Regional Representatives Council on cooperating with the government in the 2018-2019 period.

Every Aug 16 at the legislative complex, a day before the commemoration of Indonesian Independence Day on Aug 17, the president deliver three speeches, namely the annual speech, the state speech, and the speech on the state budget.
