Jakarta (ANTARA) - An earthquake of magnitude 5.9 rocked Enggano in Bengkulu Province on Tuesday morning, according to the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG).

The epicenter of the quake which struck at 5:23 a.m. local time was located 158 kilometers northwest of Enggano or 161 kilometers southwest of Bengkulu city at a depth of 10 kilometers, Chief of BMKG Section for Earthquake and Tsunami Early Warning Information Tiar Prasetyo said.

The quake did not have the potential to trigger a tsunami.
