Ipah was reported to have gone missing to the village authority and local police after she did not get home from repairing the broken water pipe, Rusmana, Ipah's eldest child, told ANTARA on Sunday.
"Several villagers told me that my mother went toward the Mount Pisitan area for repairing the water pipe but she did not show up until afternoon. So, assisted by several villagers, we tried to look for her," Rusmana said.
On Jan 8, several local policemen and villagers continued the search effort by tracing her around Mount Pisitan's spring but they failed to find her until late afternoon. The search efforts continued until Jan 12 without expected results, Rusmana said.
After the sixth day of search, the search team members received information on Ipah. She survived after being found by a hunter in the area of Pagelaran Subdistrict, which is tens of kilometers away from Pisitan Hamlet, Rusmana said.
Meanwhile, Acting Head of Campaka Mulya Village Asep Suherman said Ipah was picked up by her family members. Ipah reached the Pagelaran Subdistrict area after walking for tens of kilometers through difficult jungle tracks.
Now, the 67-year-old Ipah has reunited with her family members but her health condition is not so good. The hunter who found her alive said that Ipah was so exhausted on the day he rescued her, Suherman revealed.
Ipah has received a medical check-up from the village's doctor. Due to her health condition, the village authority has yet to ask her about her disappearance, he said.
