Pontianak, W Kalimantan (ANTARA) - The Police in Singkawang District, West Kalimantan Province, arrested two Malaysians at their rented houses on Tuesday for alleged possession of 8.81 grams of crystal meth.

"During the search (on the rented houses of) two foreign nationals, we found 8.81 grams of crystal meth as evidence," Chief of the Singkawang Police Resort Adjunct Senior Commissioner Prasetiyo Adhi Wibowo noted during a press conference.

Based on preliminary investigation, the crystal meth confiscated during the search is the sample drug they would market in West Kalimantan, especially in Singkawang City, he stated.

"The contraband was believed to have been smuggled (to Indonesia) through the border checkpoint. We are yet investigating the two foreign nationals," he remarked.

The investigation is deemed necessary to see from where they obtained the crystal meth and the main objective behind their visit to Singkawang, he added. Related news: Police seize 70kg of methamphetamine from Indonesia-Malaysia network
