Jakarta (ANTARA) - A Jakarta Metropolitan Police's spokesman confirmed that FTV Actress and adult magazine model Andi Novalita, alias Vitalia Shesya, tested positive for the consumption of ecstasy pills, crystal methamphetamine, and Happy Five (nimetazepam) pills.

"During a drug raid operation at a unit of the Mansion Kemayoran Apartment in North Jakarta on Feb 24, police investigators found 10 ecstasy pills and three Happy Five pills," Sen. Coms. Yusri Yunus stated here on Thursday.

The ecstasy and Happy Five pills were concealed in a cigarette case. Some 0.63 grams of crystal meth, four Happy Five pills, and a bong were found during the drug raid operation in Shesya's room, Yunus remarked.

Shesya's boyfriend, only identified by his initial as A, had ordered those banned drugs several times from their 32-year-old friend, identified by the initials as RH, he revealed.

They were arrested, and the police named them as suspects in this drug case, he noted.

The police charged them under several chapters of Law No.35 of 2009 on narcotics and Law No.56 of 1997 on psychotropics that makes them liable to face a five-year prison term.

Indonesia remains under grave threat from drug dealers, as several individuals from its working-age population have been embroiled in a vicious circle.

The National Narcotics Agency's (BNN's) report that some 50 Indonesians die of drug use daily has not yet deterred drug users in the country from consuming these banned substances.

The users of crystal methamphetamine, narcotics, marijuana, and other types of addictive drugs are from any community and from distinct socio-economic and cultural backgrounds.

Among the drug users are entertainers. Indonesia's world of entertainment remains vulnerable to drugs as is apparent from the arrests of several entertainers over consumption and also trade of illicit drugs.

Over the past three years, at least 12 Indonesian entertainers -- Ammar Zoni, Rio Reifan, Roro Fitria, Fachri Albar, Fariz RM, Jennifer Dunn, Steve Emmanuel, Zul Zivilia, Jefri Nichol, Tri Retno Prayudati alias Nunung Srimulat, Nanie Darham, and Lucinta Luna -- were apprehended by the police and on trial for drug offences.

The more recent case that drew significant attention was of female movie star Nanie Darham being arrested in Jakarta on February 2 for alleged cocaine trading, with police investigators accusing her of obtaining it from a drug lord outside Indonesia by ordering through social media platforms.

Indonesia is perceived by both domestic and transnational drug dealers as a potential market due to its huge population and millions of drug users. The value of drug trade in the country is estimated to have reached nearly least Rp66 trillion.
