"It is good news that the patient, identified as case 01, has tested negative (for coronavirus) after undergoing a series of tests. The patient is also physically sound. The same is also holds true for the patient, identified as case 03, who has tested negative twice (for the coronavirus) and is in good physical health. Thank God, they will be discharged from the hospital this evening," RSPI Director Mohammad Syahril stated in Jakarta on Friday.
The hospital is currently treating 731 patients under surveillance and 40 inpatients placed in isolation.
Chief of the RSPI Infection, New Emerging and Re-emerging Disease Working Group, Dr Pompini Agustina Sitompul, stated that the bodily response to the virus played a decisive role in the recovery of the patients.
Each patient has a different body resistance, she pointed out.
"We treat COVID-19 patients as optimally as possible to increase their body resistance. We do not discriminate against them," he stated.
Earlier, on Thursday, the Persahabatan Central General Hospital in East Jakarta also discharged three patients, who had contracted the coronavirus (COVID-19) infection, after full recovery and being deemed fit.
"Three (patients) were found to have recovered both on the laboratory and clinical fronts," Health Minister Terawan Agus Putranto noted during a press conference at the Persahabatan Central General Hospital in East Jakarta on Thursday. (INE)
