When they arrive (in Indonesia), the airport health office will check their health in accordance with the health protocol.Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Saudi government has sent home Indonesian umroh pilgrims and citizens found guilty of violating immigration rules, according to the Indonesian Foreign Ministry.
"They are scheduled to arrive (in Indonesia) tonight (April 9). The Saudi government has readied aircraft to send home our umroh pilgrims, including those overstaying (their visas) since September 1 last year," Director of Indonesian Citizens and Legal Entities Protection of the Indonesian Foreign Ministry Judha Nugraha noted during a press conference held via videoconference on Thursday.
Medical tests will be conducted on the Indonesian nationals upon arrival in Indonesia despite having undergone similar tests in Saudi Arabia, he revealed.
"When they arrive (in Indonesia), the airport health office will check their health in accordance with the health protocol, he stated.
The additional medical tests will be conducted to examine their body temperature and oxygen saturation levels in addition to early check of COVID-19 symptoms, he explained.
"They will also be required to fill health alert cards and self-isolate for 14 days," he noted.
Since March 20, 2020, the Indonesian government has made it mandatory for every international passenger to fill and submit a health alert card upon arrival at an international airport in the country.
If during the course of the test, the health officers find that the passenger is symptomatic with COVID-19, then he/she will immediately be subject to quarantine.
