Compared to ODP (people under surveillance) and PDP (patients under surveillance), the number of OTGs is far higher since the ODPs and PDPs have been under surveillance and treatmentSurabaya, E Java (ANTARA) - Surabaya Mayor Tri Rismaharini has forecast that most asymptomatic patients (OTGs) in the East Java provincial capital will potentially test positive for the novel coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
"In comparison with the ODPs (people under surveillance) and PDPs (patients under surveillance), the number of OTGs is far higher since the ODPs and PDPs have been under surveillance and treatment," the mayor stated at the public kitchen of the Surabaya City Hall on Thursday.
Citing data from the Surabaya city administration, Rismaharini pointed to a spike in the number of OTGs in the city testing positive for COVID-19.
The OTGs appeared healthy and were not symptomatic with COVID-19. However, it is these people who can, in fact, transmit the virus to others they come in close contact, she cautioned.
Hence, the mayor has urged the city residents to maintain their body immunity by drinking hot water at frequent intervals in accordance with the doctor's advice.
The mayor recalled having made the pokak traditional drink and boiled eggs at the public kitchen a few days ago along with her ranks and files.
The traditional drink and boiled eggs have, so far, been distributed among ODPs, PDPs, and OTGs on a daily basis to boost the body’s stamina and immunity to fight the virus.
The pokak drink is made of local ingredients comprising ginger, lemongrass, cardamom, and cinnamon.
