Cirebon, W Java (ANTARA) - The West Java Police are still investigating the cause of a deadly crash involving an Elf micro bus which rammed head-on into a Toyota Rush jeep on the Cikopo-Palimanan (Cipali) toll road in Cirebon District, West Java, before dawn on Monday, that killed eight people.

The Elf micro bus, with registration number D-7013-AN, heading to Central Java from Jakarta veered far to the right at the same time as the Toyota Rush jeep, with registration number B-2918-PKL, was approaching from the opposite direction, Chief of the West Java Provincial Police Inspector General Rudy Sufahriadi stated in Cirecbon on Monday.

"The Toyota Rush jeep heading from the opposite direction rammed into the Elf micro bus," he remarked.

The micro bus had 16 people on board, while eight people were seated in the jeep.

All the eight, who lost their lives, had been rushed to the Arjawinangun General Hospital in Cirebon.

Sufahriadi noted that the accident took place at 3:30 a.m. local time at the 184-kilometer mark of the Cipali toll road near Ciwaringin Village, Cirebon District, West Java.
