Artificial intelligence technology is expected to increase productivity for business, efficiency in human resource investment, and encourage innovation in various sectors.Jakarta (ANTARA) - Minister of Research and Technology, Bambang PS Brodjonegoro, has said he hopes the development of artificial intelligence in Indonesia in future would bolster business productivity and human resource investment efficiency.
“Artificial intelligence technology is expected to increase productivity for business, efficiency in human resource investment, and encourage innovation in various sectors,” the minister said at the Indonesia Artificial Intelligence Summit 2020, held as part of an event commemorating the 25th National Technology Awakening Day (Hakteknas), here on Tuesday.
Brodjonegoro argued in favor of using artificial intelligence to boost economic growth from year to year.
The COVID-19 pandemic has led to science and technology assuming a stronger role thanks to the collaboration among stakeholders for developing innovative products, especially in the field of artificial intelligence, he noted.
Indonesia already has a National Strategy for Artificial Intelligence (Stranas KA) in place, he pointed out. Stranas KA is directed at the development of artificial intelligence technology.
The minister said he hopes the programs in the National Railway Plan, containing focus and priority areas on the development and application of technology, can be implemented properly by various ministries and agencies, local governments, and other stakeholders in Indonesia.
“We appreciate all parties who have given their time and energy and ideas to carry out the Indonesia Artificial Intelligence Summit 2020 activities. Hopefully, this event can run successfully and be beneficial for the people of Indonesia,” he added.
