Jakarta (ANTARA) - A fire erupted in a residential area in Pasar Minggu, South Jakarta, claiming the lives of two residents, who got trapped in the bathroom when the incident occurred on Friday at 11:15 a.m. local time.

The victims were found dead in the bathroom, Ruwanto, an officer of the South Jakarta Fire Brigade and Rescue Agency (Damkar), stated here on Friday.

"The victim count reaches two, and both of them were dead," he confirmed.

Two fire engines and 10 personnel were deployed to extinguish the fire.
