The government will certainly pay attention to the people, who fell victim (to the quake), including damaged houses, which will become the responsibility of the BNPB, along with the provincial and district governmentsJakarta (ANTARA) - The National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB) is contemplating on offering stimulus fund to residents whose houses were wrecked by a 6.2-magnitude earthquake that hit several districts in West Sulawesi Province on early Friday.
The stimulus fund amounts to Rp50 million for each house that incurred severe damage, Rp25 million for each house that suffered moderate damage, and Rp10 million for each house that got slightly damaged, the agency noted in a statement released on Sunday.
BNPB Chief Doni Monardo remarked that the fund amount aligns with the proposal submitted by the West Sulawesi provincial government to the central government through the BNPB.
Monardo had noted earlier that the central, provincial, and district governments were tasked with conducting restoration of the houses damaged by the quake in the province.

A powerful earthquake rocked the districts of Majene and Mamuju on early Friday. Epicenter of the quake was located on land, six kilometers northeast of Majene, at a depth of 10 kilometers
The shallow quake, which the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) believes was caused by local fault, also destroyed several buildings, including the governor's office, a military office, and Maleo Hotel.
Death toll from the 6.2-magnitude earthquake that rattled the districts of Majene and Mamuju in West Sulawesi Province on early Friday climbed to 73, with 27,850 people taking refuge as of Sunday evening, according to the BNPB.
"In total, 73 people died," Chief of the BNPB Center for Disaster Data, Information, and Communication Dr Raditya Jati remarked during an online press conference in Jakarta on Sunday.
The BNPB recorded that a total of 826 people had sustained injuries, while 27,850 people fled their homes as of Sunday evening.
The agency noted that the evacuees are in dire need of basic necessities, blankets, mats, tents, medical services, masks, fast food, mineral water, means of communication, tarpaulin, heavy-duty equipment, and personal protective equipment for health officers.
The agency has, so far, distributed eight sets of isolation tents, 10 sets of evacuee tents, five light towers, 2,004 packs of food supplement, 2,004 packs of fast food, 30 generator sets, 500 packs of baby kits, and 500 thousand masks.
