Throughout last year, budget (allocations for) the Education and Culture Ministry increased to Rp86 trillion, while the realization reached 91.61 percent.
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The realization of budget funding at the Education and Culture Ministry in 2020 reached 91.61 percent of the budget ceiling of Rp86.23 trillion, Secretary General of the Education and Culture Ministry Prof. Ainun Na'im said.

"Throughout last year, budget (allocations for) the Education and Culture Ministry increased to Rp86 trillion, while the realization reached 91.61 percent," Na'im stated at a working meeting with the House of Representatives’ (DPR’s) Commission X broadcast live via the YouTube account on Wednesday.

The realization of budget funding at the ministry last year had reached over Rp79 trillion, constituting 91.61 percent of the budget ceiling of Rp86.23 trillion.

Na'im noted that budget allocations for the ministry last year were subject to change in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.

"We received additional budget allocations of Rp8.3 trillion from the budget section of the State General Treasurer, particularly for internet and additional profession and certification allowances for teachers and wage subsidies for educational workers," Na'im remarked.

Budget allocations for the ministry were mostly utilized for social assistance that reached Rp16.17 trillion, or 99.85 percent of the targeted Rp16.20 trillion.

The second-largest budget allocations were for salaries that reached Rp24.25 trillion, or 95.91 percent of the targeted Rp25.28 trillion.

Meanwhile, the realization of budget funding for goods stood at Rp33.09 trillion, or 86.26 percent of the targeted Rp35.36 trillion, while that for capital reached Rp5.48 trillion, or 85.85 percent of the targeted Rp6.38 trillion.
