Jakarta (ANTARA) - Head of the Indonesian National Narcotics Agency (BNN) Petrus R. Golose stated that the agency's budget realization in 2022 reached Rp1.703 trillion, or 98.38 percent of the budget ceiling of Rp1.731 trillion.

"BNN optimizes the budget through several programs and activities," Golose stated during a work meeting with Commission III of the House of Representatives at the Parliament Complex in Senayan, Jakarta, Wednesday.

Meanwhile, BNN's budget realization in 2021 was Rp1.413 trillion, or 98.22 percent of the budget ceiling of Rp1.439 trillion, Golose explained.

He elaborated that the budget was used for the Prevention, Eradication, Abuse, and Illicit Narcotics Program (P4GN) for the prevention, rehabilitation, eradication, legal, and cooperation sectors.

Golose noted that the prevention sector includes village resilience, with the Village Clean from Narcotics Program (Bersinar) reaching as many as 588 villages or an increase of 242 villages as compared to 2021.

Some 329 regulations have been issued to support Bersinar villages that is regional regulations, governor's decree, district/city regional regulations, regent/mayor's decree, and sub-district/village head's decree.

Furthermore, the family resilience intervention program for 1,040 families in 34 provinces throughout Indonesia.

Student-level soft-skills development program in 34 junior and senior high schools to shape the character of anti-drugs students. The program was followed up independently by the schools to 4,590 students.

"Training 1,730 youth to be equipped with the ability to recognize themselves and the ability to influence their peers to refuse drugs," Golose stated.

The head of BNN emphasized that the agency provided anti-drug counselling based on public request, both online and offline, with a total of 1,837,441 participants.

The BNN conducted prevention through early detection with urine tests on 146,913 people, where 1,001 people tested positive. Early detection was conducted in government institutions, the private sector, the educational sector, and communities.
