The commemoration of HKAN 2021 will take place at the Marine Tourist Park (TWAL), Kupang Bay and Lasiana Beach in Kupang, chief of the East Nusa Tenggara Provincial Nature Conservation Office, Timbul Batubara, informed here on Friday.
"The venue of the event will be Kupang, namely TWAL, Kupang Bay and Lasiana Beach," he said.
The HKAN is aimed at campaigning for the importance of conserving nature for people's welfare, and educating and encouraging the public to take an active part in conserving the ecosystem, he added.
He said the director of environmental services, forest conservation, and policy analysis of the strategic policy center at the Environment and Forestry Ministry has visited the two locations to review their suitability for the event.
The appointment of East Nusa Tenggara, particularly Kupang, as host is the right decision, bearing in mind that the province is geographically important for the preservation of endemic wild animals in Walacea zone, he added.
East Nusa Tenggara is home to four national parks, 12 nature tourist parks, six nature reserves, eight wildlife reserves, and two bird parks. (INE)
