A panel of judges presided over by Angeliky Handayani Da found the defendant guilty of possessing Class I narcotics in the form of marijuana plants, weighing more than 1 kilogram, or more than five marijuana plants.
The verdict was lighter than what the prosecutors had sought.
The prosecutors had earlier demanded that the defendant be sentenced to 15 years in jail and fined Rp1 billion, or face another six months in jail.
Both the defendant and public prosecutors accepted the verdict.
