Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) issued Presidential Regulation No. 47 of 2021 on the Administrative and Bureaucratic Reforms (PANRB) Ministry that regulates the existence of a deputy minister for administrative and bureaucratic reforms.

According to a copy of the presidential regulation downloaded from the jdih.setneg.go.id page in Jakarta, Friday, provisions on the existence of a deputy minister for administrative and bureaucratic reforms are regulated in Article 2 of Presidential Regulation Number 47 of 2021.

Article 2, paragraph 1, highlights that in leading the Ministry of Empowerment of State Apparatus and Bureaucratic Reform, the minister can be assisted by a deputy minister in accordance with the appointment of the president.

According to paragraph 2 of Presidential Regulation Number 47 of 2021, the vice minister is appointed and dismissed by the president, while in paragraph 3, the deputy minister comes under the minister and is accountable to him.

Paragraph 4 stated that the deputy minister is tasked with assisting the minister in leading the execution of duties of the Ministry of Empowerment of State Apparatus and Bureaucratic Reform.

The deputy minister's duties, according to paragraph 4, comprise assisting the minister in formulating and/or implementing policies of the Ministry of PANRB in addition to helping the minister coordinate the achievement of strategic policies across organizational units of middle and high leadership positions, or echelon I within the Ministry of PANRB.

Meanwhile, Article 3 stipulates that the minister and deputy minister are one element under the ministry's leadership.

Presidential Regulation Number 47 of 2021 was stipulated by President Joko Widodo on May 19, 2021, and promulgated by the Minister of Law and Human Rights on May 21, 2021, in Jakarta.

The presidential regulation was issued as a follow-up to the stipulation of Presidential Decree Number 113/P/2019 on the establishment of state ministries and their appointment for the Advanced Indonesian Cabinet for the 2019-2024 term and to implement provisions of Article 11 of Law Number 39 of 2008 on state ministries.
