The contingent comprises 28 athletes and 17 officials that will compete in the Olympic Games to be held on July 23 to August 10, 2021, in Tokyo, Japan.
"People are waiting for you to return home with medals and make us proud. I hope your struggle will bring victory," Jokowi emphasized.
The contingent was led by chef de mission Rosan Roeslani.

They will compete in eight sports disciplines: athletics, archery, rowing, shooting, badminton, weightlifting, swimming, and surfing.
The president noted that all athletes had made optimal preparations to boost their achievements and were ready to compete in a sporting spirit and bag medals.
Jokowi urged the athletes to maintain their health, stamina, and focus.
"The people have high hopes from you, and your achievements will be the accomplishments of the country," Jokowi affirmed.
The ceremony was held in adherence to stringent health protocols, and merely few members of the contingent had attended the ceremony at the Palace.
Other athletes followed the ceremony virtually.
The ceremony was attended by Youth and Sports Minister Zainudin Amali, General Chairperson of the Indonesian Olympic Committee (KOI) Raja Sapta Oktohari, Chef de Mission Rosan P. Roeslani, General Chairperson of the Indonesian Sports Committee (KONI) Marciano Norman, as well as athletes and coaches present virtually from their respective national training centers respectively.
Minister Amali confirmed that the Indonesian contingent for the Tokyo 2021 Olympics had completed their COVID-19 vaccination on Feb 26.
