And as a state-owned enterprise, this is one of our social responsibilities for this nationJakarta (ANTARA) - Pertamina has installed a 20-ton ISO oxygen tank at Jakarta Hajj Dormitory (Asrama Haji) located in Pondok Gede after the government deemed it an emergency hospital for treating COVID-19 patients with mild and moderate symptoms.
The tank will be used to store oxygen to fulfill COVID-19 patient needs, acting senior vice president, corporate communications and investor relations, for Pertamina, Fajriyah Usman, informed.
"As Pertamina takes a role in managing national energy, we have to implement that task precisely. And as a state-owned enterprise, this is one of our social responsibilities for this nation," Usman said in a press release issued here on Wednesday.
Pertamina has so far helped transport 400 tons of oxygen and distribute it to several hospitals in Jakarta, West Java, Central Java, Yogyakarta, and East Java, he informed.
The new COVID-19 emergency hospital (RSDC), Asrama Haji, is being managed by the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of State-owned Enterprises through PT Pertamedika-IHC.
Looking at the hospital's capacity, authorities have pegged its oxygen requirement at 26.000 m3 of oxygen per day.

"Pertamina continues to coordinate with authorities such as government agencies related to the distribution of ISO tanks to hospitals in need," Usman said.
The government has designated eight buildings of Asrama Haji Pondok Gede for use as an emergency hospital for COVID-19 patients. The buildings will be divided equally to meet self-isolation and emergency needs, officials said.
Of the total 25 buildings at Asrama Gaji Pondok Gede, eight have started to function as isolation facilities for asymptomatic patients.
Five buildings have been designated for COVID-19 isolation patients -- A, B, C, H, and D5. Meanwhile, the Arafah building is catering to patients with moderate and severe symptoms.
The two remaining buildings, D3 and D4, are serving as accommodations for health workers and have a total capacity of 376 beds.
