The spirit of mutual cooperation that Indonesians hold is one of the keys to success in fighting the COVID-19 pandemic together
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Southeast Asia’s leading on-demand company Gojek has distributed 50 thousand discount voucher packages to 11 state-owned hospitals in Jakarta in order to support health workers and to underscore the importance of collaboration in overcoming the COVID-19 pandemic.

Gojek CEO Kevin Aluwi noted that his side believes collaboration among all parties was paramount to handling COVID-19.

Aluwi remarked that Gojek will later expand the #SEMANGATNAKES discount voucher package program to Bandung, Yogyakarta, Semarang, and Surabaya, as those cities had recorded the highest daily cases of COVID-19 exposure in Indonesia.

"The spirit of mutual cooperation that Indonesians hold is one of the keys to success in fighting the COVID-19 pandemic together," the CEO noted in a written statement quoted on Saturday.

"These vouchers are nothing compared to the health workers' dedication, but we hope to support you through the services we have. You are not alone; Gojek is with you," he stated in support of health workers that have been making all-out efforts to handle the pandemic.

Aluwi explained that health workers can use the discount voucher package to order various Gojek services, such as transportation services (GoRide and GoCar), food delivery service (GoFood), goods delivery service (GoSend), and daily necessities shopping service (GoMart).

This initiative is part of Gojek's support for health workers in 2020, wherein the company distributed 500 thousand foods from GoFood business partners as well as 65 thousand GoRide and GoCar travel vouchers for health workers to 131 COVID-19 referral hospitals nationwide.

"This initiative is also in line with Gojek's mission to continue facilitating the daily lives of Indonesian people, including health workers, as the front liners, who play an important role during this pandemic," Aluwi remarked.

Apart from the aforementioned program, Gojek also partook in accelerating the government's vaccination program in collaboration with Halodoc and the central and regional governments.

So far, Gojek has conducted a vaccination program for its partners from Sumatra to Papua, covering 36 cities and districts. To date, hundreds of thousands of driver and business partners have been vaccinated against COVID-19.

Gojek has provided the #ANTERINVAKSIN voucher that offers a discount of Rp30,000 (around US$2) to vaccinated customers booking GoRide and GoCar services to travel to and from vaccination centers.

In addition, Gojek implemented extra protection #ProteksiEkstra on every service to minimize virus transmission, including making contactless deliveries and payments as well as providing protective shields and air purifiers in the vehicles of their driver partners.
