Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) officially launched the Online Single Submission (OSS) System, a web-based platform for issuing business licenses to facilitate micro to large entrepreneurs.

"Today, we launched a risk-based Online Single Submission System. This is a significant reform in (business) licensing using integrated online licensing services with a risk-based licensing paradigm," the head of state noted here, Monday, through the Presidential Secretariat YouTube channel.

Jokowi noted that through the OSS System, the business licensing will be adjusted to the level of risk, thereby improving the ease of doing business in Indonesia.

Jokowi has instructed ministers, heads of institutions, governors, district heads, and mayors to remain disciplined following the convenience offered through this OSS.

The president confirmed he will directly oversee the on-field implementation of OSS.

"I will follow up whether the requirements are easier, or if the licensing figure will decrease, or if the process is getting simpler, or if the cost is more efficient, or if the standards are the same throughout Indonesia, or id the service is getting faster," he pointed out.

"I think that is all, and by saying bismillahirohmanirohim (In the Name of Allah), this morning, I officialized the launch of the risk-based Online Single Submission System," he affirmed.

Application of Risk-Based Business Licensing through the OSS System is the implementation of Law No. 11 of 2020 on Job Creation.

Risk-Based OSS must be used by businesses, ministries/institutions, local governments, Administrators of Special Economic Zones (KEK), and Free Trade Zone and Free Port Management Agency (KPBPB).

Based on Government Regulation No. 5 of 2021, there are 1,702 business activities under Indonesia Standard Industrial Classification (KBLI) system, of which 1,349 have used the Risk-Based OSS System.

Meanwhile, the other 353 business activities not regulated in Government Regulation No. 5 of 2021 will be registered in the system no later than August-end of 2021.
