The plan is to start vaccination from next Monday
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Setiabudi Subdistrict Health Center in South Jakarta will commence offering the Moderna vaccine to people from Monday, August 23.

Head of the Setiabudi Health Center Gafar Hartatiyanto stated when contacted here on Friday that to provide vaccination to the public, the health center had firstly opened registration to schedule the vaccination.

"The plan is to start vaccination from next Monday. We have actually begun registration two days ago. Each vial can be used for 14 people, so we will schedule them later, and if the requirements have been met, we will contact the participants," Hartatiyanto explained.

The center head emphasized that the Moderna vaccine was selectively for those categorized as recipients.

In addition, vaccination scheduling aims to maximize the availability of vaccine vials to prevent wastage of vaccine stocks, he remarked.

"This is because we fear that if there is no arranged schedule, then the opened vials would go waste," he stressed.

Hartatiyanto highlighted the palpable enthusiasm among residents in the region to get the Moderna vaccine until the second day of registration.

Hence, he urged residents meeting the conditions to immediately register at the Setiabudi Health Center. The health center team will contact the registered participants regarding the vaccination schedule.

He called on the public to not hesitate to get the vaccine since its safety was guaranteed by the government in a bid to achieve herd immunity at the earliest.

"Vaccination is indeed our endeavor in combating the COVID-19 pandemic. The government must have thought of the best for its citizens, so they should not hesitate to take the vaccines. This is because (according to research), the higher the vaccine's efficacy, the greater the side effects," he stated.

Apart from the Setibudi Health Center, several health facilities in South Jakarta that also offered Moderna vaccines to the public comprised the Fatmawati Hospital, Pasar Minggu Hospital, and Pesanggrahan Hospital.

Mampang Prapatan Hospital, Mayapada Lebak Bulus Hospital, Pondok Indah Hospital, Medistra Hospital, MMC Hospital, and Brawijaya Women and Children's Hospital also provided Moderna vaccines.
