Sleman (ANTARA) - The Government of Sleman, Yogyakarta, will soon conduct a trial opening of the Ratu Boko Temple tourist destination after the cultural historical tourism site in Prambanan District secured the central government's permission for it.

Head of Sleman District Kustini Sri Purnomo remarked that the trial opening of Ratu Boko Temple was in accordance with the direct order of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy.

"The decision was conveyed at the coordination meeting for the evaluation of the Java-Bali PPKM that was held yesterday. Ratu Boko Temple was included in the 20 tourist attractions being tested for opening in level-3 cities in Java-Bali," Purnomo stated.

"This is in line with the plan of our local government, which in the past few weeks had prepared a scenario for the opening of a tourist attraction," she remarked.

In addition to readying the scenario, the Sleman government had earlier sent a request for the trial opening of 21 tourist attractions. However, during this trial period, only Ratu Boko Temple was selected for it.

"Since the last few weeks, the scenario has been readied. We also sent a letter requesting 21 tourist attractions to be tested. However, only Ratu Boko Temple ( was selected). Later on, we are optimistic of other tourist attractions also opening," she stated.

Purnomo later highlighted that the Ratu Boko Temple tourist attraction had obtained the Cleanliness, Health, Safety, and Environmental Sustainability (CHSE) certification from the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy.

Furthermore, the Sleman government, through the Tourism Service, will prepare additional provisions during the trial that was conducted until September 13, 2021.

"The program will be implemented in a way so as to prevent crowding. This includes the use of the PeduliLindungi application for employees and visitors. The relevant agencies will follow up on it," she expounded.

For other tourist attractions that are still closed, Purnomo appealed to the public to be patient. This is because if this trial is successful and the PPKM level next week goes down, then more tourist attractions will be allowed to open.

"If this is successful and our level can go down to level 2, then other tourism destinations will be opened. Hence, the good results in this week must be improved again, such as by complying with the health protocols to minimize the spread of the virus, so that next week our level can go down to level 2," she affirmed.
