Only (people) in the green category can enter the cinema area
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Cinemas have finally reopened, albeit with the government's four requirements of using the PeduliLindungi app in regions enforcing level 3 or 2 of community activities restrictions, fully vaccinated visitors, and strict adherence to health protocols.

Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan announced that the reopening was based on the improvement in conditions.

"There are some adjustments and strict (monitoring) of public activities conducted during this week, such as the reopening of cinemas, with capacity capped at maximum 50 percent in level 3 or 2 cities (that implement community activity restrictions)," the minister noted.

"I repeat, with the obligation to use the PeduliLindungi application and to apply strict health protocols," Pandjaitan added.

"Only (people) in the green category can enter the cinema area," he noted.

Tourism and Creative Economy Minister Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno also expected that the reopening of cinemas would again revive the national film industry.

"We will be testing cinemas to open from this week, with a capacity of 50 percent. This means it is expected to further boost the film industry, and this promotion can be expected to revive enthusiasm in the film industry," Sandiaga noted during a virtual event on Monday (Sept 13).

Chairman of the All-Indonesian Cinema Entrepreneurs Association Djonny Syafruddin revealed that some preparations had been made to welcome the reopening of cinemas on September 14, 2021.

The preparations encompass provisions for implementing health protocols in cinema rooms, films being screened, and compliance with regulations for supervision, such as the provision of the barcode medium for the PeduliLindungi application.

Several cinema networks in Indonesia have also made various preparations and protocols to reopen their services to welcome audiences in Indonesia.

The government is also reported to be opening tourist attractions that enforce strict health protocols and necessitates the use of PeduliLindungi in cities that enforce level-3 community activities restriction.
