Jakarta (ANTARA) - An earthquake of magnitude 5.4 hit the waters off Bolaemo in North Sulawesi Province on Wednesday morning, the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) stated.

Epicenter of the quake, which struck at 7:49 West Indonesia Time (WIB), was located 85 kilometers northwest of Bolaemo, at a depth of 20 kilometers, the agency noted.

The tremor was felt at Modified Mercalli Intensity (MMI) scale III in Bolaemo, II-III in Buol, I in Manado, II in Bone Bolango and II in Gorontalo.

No injury or fatality was reported in the quake.

North Sulawesi is among the Indonesian provinces prone to earthquakes.
