Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy collaborates with the online travel agency (OTA) Pegipegi to revive the Indonesian tourism industry in a bid to usher in recovery of Indonesia's economic ecosystem.

Tourism and Creative Economy Minister Sandiaga Uno lauded the collaboration of national and international brands aimed at advancing Indonesia's tourism and creative economy.

"This is a form of synergy that must continue to be improved, so that Indonesia becomes more advanced and resilient to rise from the conditions that we currently face," Uno noted as quoted from an official statement, Wednesday.

The collaboration is in the form of co-branding and data exchange related to Clean and Safe and Cleanliness, Health, Safety, and Environment Sustainability (CHSE).

The collaboration between the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy and Pegipegi aims to increase the number of domestic tourists by ensuring tourism safety from COVID-19 and increasing visits to super priority destinations.

Security protection from COVID-19 for consumers is offered through the Clean and Safe feature in the Pegipegi application to provide filters for hotels that have these facilities.

Accommodations with Clean and Safe feature have passed tests on the environment, room cleanliness, restaurant & laundry, as well as trained hotel staff. The purpose of this feature is to offer comfort and safety with high standards of cleanliness at select hotels.

In addition, Pegipegi encourages people to explore more destinations in Indonesia, such as the five super priority destinations of Borobudur, Lake Toba, Labuan Bajo, Likupang, and Mandalika. Later, in the application, specific information related to tips on the five super priority destinations will be available.

Deputy for Marketing for the Tourism and Creative Economy Agency Nia Niscaya explained that this co-branding partnership encompasses offline and online joint activations, special products produced by partners, as well as sharing knowledge by partners to the tourism industry.
