Jakarta (ANTARA) - The amount of tax collected in Indonesia can be two times higher than the current tax revenue accrued, Founder and Group CEO of OnlinePajak Charles Guinot told ANTARA on Monday while referring to a study conducted by the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

Despite this, he highlighted that the willingness to pay taxes was still low in Indonesia, especially among micro and small enterprises (MSEs), owing to factors, including the complicated system.

"Nobody likes paying tax. Even I do not. However, in addition to that, there is also the complexity of the payment system and the difficulty to enter the system, pay, and submit being the reasons," he elaborated.

To this end, OnlinePajak, an online tax application founded since September 2014, is committed to helping MSE entrepreneurs.

With the same opportunity, CEO of OnlinePajak Indonesia Mulia Dewi stated that OnlinePajak exists to address three challenges that micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) tend to encounter.

Firstly, OnlinePajak, through its platform, provides a seamless and easy-to-operate digital ecosystem.

Secondly, it provides access to financing since MSMEs tend to experiencing difficulties in obtaining a loan, as they do not have access to financing.

The third solution that OnlinePajak offers is market access through digital marketing.

Dewi also remarked that through the ecosystem provided by OnlinePajak, MSMES will not have to wait for lengthy periods of time to obtain financing as the application cooperates with several banks, fintechs, and financing through credit card.

To encourage the growth of digitalization of MSME businesses, OnlinePajak held the MSMEs Digital Forum on Tuesday. The event also marks OnlinePajak's commitment to supporting MSMEs.
