We all have the same commitment to working openly, transparently, impartially, and independently to convince the public that we can work well as ordered by lawJakarta (ANTARA) - The selection team for prospective members of the General Elections Commission (KPU) and the General Elections Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) for 2022-2024 will remain transparent, independent, and impartial, an official has said.
"We all have the same commitment to working openly, transparently, impartially, and independently to convince the public that we can work well as ordered by law," Chairman of the KPU-Bawaslu Selection Team Juri Ardiantoro remarked here on Tuesday.
He said his team has already arranged a schedule and drawn up a work plan that will be carried out until the prospective members of KPU and Bawaslu are selected.
The quality of prospective members of KPU and Bawaslu that will be sought by the selection team will soon be formulated, he added.
"We will discuss the formulation," he said.
Earlier, Home Affairs Minister Tito Karnavian also delivered a statement saying there would be no intervention from the Ministry of Home Affairs in the selection team's work.
"The Ministry of Home Affairs certainly does not interfere with the teamwork as they must work independently," Karnavian affirmed.

According to him, the ministry will only provide inputs related to those who will be selected as candidates for KPU and Bawaslu, considering the situation of the 2023-2024 political year.
According to Karnavian, KPU and Bawaslu will face a heavy task as the presidential, House of Representatives (DPR), Regional Representatives Council (DPD), and Regional Legislative Assembly (DPRD) elections will be held simultaneously in 2024.
These will be followed by the simultaneous elections of regional heads in Indonesia, which will be held in the same year, he added.
The consideration of those serious tasks is necessary for choosing prospective members of KPU and Bawaslu, who will serve from 2022-2027, he said.
According to the minister, KPU and Bawaslu will need physically and spiritually healthy members who are strong enough to work in high-stress situations while considering other important matters.
