Only four cases of COVID-19 were recorded in Semarang as of November 9, 2021, comprising two residents of Semarang City and two outside the city being treated in Semarang City. The data was derived from the Semarang City Health Office, as seen on their Instagram account @dkksemarang on Wednesday,
The two active COVID-19 cases of Semarang residents are in the sub-districts of Gunungpati and Banyumanik. The 14 other sub-districts recorded zero active cases.
As compared to the day before, the number of cases on November 9, 2021, declined by three.
On November 4, 2021, the number of active cases had spiked up to 21 cases, albeit continued to decline to four active cases on November 9, 2021, the lowest figure so far.

At the peak of the rampant spread of COVID-19 in Indonesia during the June-July 2021 period, Semarang City recorded over two thousand active cases.
Semarang City, which is currently imposing level 1 community activities restrictions, continues to expedite vaccinations. It was done despite the wide coverage rate as compared to other provinces.
A total of 1,417,245, or 108.6 percent of the targeted 1,305,077 people, have received the first dose of vaccine. As for the second dose, 1,216,650 people, or 93.22 percent, have received them.
Although cases had steadily declined and the vaccination rate for the second dose is approaching the target, Semarang Mayor Hendrar Prihadi reminded the public to always adhere to health protocols, especially by wearing masks in public places.
The residents are also urged to wash their hands frequently, maintain appropriate distance from each other, avoid joining or making crowds, and limit mobility.
Lately, an increase of activities was recorded among Semarang's residents as was also apparent from the activity of trade and office centers. However, the operating hours of restaurant and nightlife entertainment remains limited to 00:00 a.m. local time.
The Semarang city government is taking firm action against entrepreneurs found violating the rules. Two restaurants in Semarang that broke the rules of level 1 community activity restrictions at the end of last month were temporarily closed for the subsequent month.
Head of the Semarang Public Order Office, Fajar Purwoto, stated that the temporary closure was a form of enforcement of regional regulations.
