We will cooperate with the local government as well as military and police personnel.Kapuas Hulu, W Kalimantan (ANTARA) - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has sent five thousand packages containing basic necessities for flood victims in Sintang district, West Kalimantan, an official has informed.
"The assistance is ready. We only need to further discuss the distribution method to ensure it will run smoothly and the aids are disbursed on target," deputy for palace administration and management at the State Secretary Ministry, Rika Kiswardani, said at a virtual coordination meeting on the disbursal of the assistance here on Wednesday.
Each package—which is planned to be disbursed on Friday—contains granulated sugar, tea, biscuits, five kilograms of rice, and one liter of cooking oil, she informed.
"We will cooperate with the local government as well as military and police personnel," she continued.
Meanwhile, the head of the administrative bureau of the Presidential Secretariat, Sony Kartiko, said that the assistance would symbolically be handed over to the West Kalimantan Governor on Thursday (November 18, 2021).
Then, the vehicles which transport the aids will immediately leave for Sintang district, he added.
"We hope that the ten trucks will have a safe trip to the disaster location," Kartiko said.

Meanwhile, West Kalimantan Governor Sutarmidji said that the West Kalimantan provincial government has also deployed 35 trucks to send the assistance collected from the provincial government and the local community to six flood-affected districts.
Besides Sintang, the districts are Melawi, Sekadau, Sanggau, Kapuas Hulu, and Ketapang.
"We will distribute the assistance from the President once the packages arrive,” the governor said.
In addition, several other aids have been disbursed for the flood-affected, such as rice as well as 546 boxes of medicines and vitamins, he informed.
“We have also ordered two thousand blankets. Tomorrow (on Thursday), I will go to Sintang district to accompany the Public Works and Public Housing Minister," Commander of the XII/Tanjungpura Regional Military Command, Major General Sulaiman Agusto, informed.
Meanwhile, deputy chief of the West Kalimantan Regional Police, Brigadier General Asep Safrudin, and Sintang district secretary, Yosepha Hasnah, added that the flood victims also need clean water, mosquito nets, baby diapers, and sanitary pads.
