Insyaa Allah (if God wills), in 2022, we will develop the model further into 15 areas.Jakarta (ANTARA) - Manpower Minister Ida Fauziyah officially launched a grand design for the development of a region-based job opportunity expansion model for five regions on Tuesday.
"The development can be accelerated if we are supported by the private sector, especially companies which operate in the regions,” she said at the virtual launch of the model here on Tuesday.
Realizing the program will require strong collaboration between the central government, regional governments, ministries, institutions, and private sector to solve various challenges, including regarding the budget, she added.
The establishment of regions will be adjusted to the characteristics of their surrounding areas to optimize job opportunities and encourage integrated business development, the minister informed.
In collaboration with several parties, the Manpower Ministry will start a pilot project in Jambe Bay Social Forestry Area, Karawang District, West Java Province, based on the concept of agroindustry and ecotourism, she said.
Meanwhile, Lido Agrotourism Area in Bogor and Sukabumi districts, West Java, will be established to integrate agrotourism and local micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) as the location has potential for agriculture and nature tourism, she explained.

The ministry will conduct research on the regions’ carrying capacity and the demand of area-based businesses, hold focus group discussions with the community and regional stakeholders, as well as carry out community capacity-building and institutional strengthening, she informed.
The institution will also encourage equitable business access and marketing, provide business incubation and business funding stimulus, as well as carry out monitoring and periodic evaluation, she added.
The successful development of the five pilot project areas will encourage the development of other areas in future, Fauziyah said.
"Insyaa Allah (if God wills), in 2022 we will develop the model further into 15 areas," she remarked.
