The Ecotourism Agrinex Village should be fully supported and prepared as a top-notch destination that can attract tourists
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Agrinex Ecotourism Village in Banten can set an example for job creation through the tourism and creative economy sectors, Tourism and Creative Economy Minister Sandiaga Uno has said.

"The Ecotourism Agrinex Village should be fully supported and prepared as a top-notch destination that can attract tourists," he remarked while inaugurating the village in Pandeglang, Banten province, according to a written statement here on Wednesday.

The government is also seeking to bolster connectivity between Jakarta and Tanjung Lesung in Banten province by building the 84-kilometer Serang-Panimbang toll road, he noted.

Thus, destinations located on the toll road, like Agrinex Village, would benefit as the economy improves, he said.

PT Kampung Agrinex Farm, led by Rifda Ammarina, has established a 27-hectare destination where 57 types of fruits are currently being grown.

Due to the fertile soil, produce grown in the area is of good quality and affordably priced, Uno said.

The Agrenex Village offers facilities such as stilt houses, cafés, restaurants, a camping ground, a mosque, a boarding school for Quran memorizers (tahfiz), he added.

A multifunction room that will serve as a meeting and wedding venue will be built in the village in the near future, he informed.

"I am sure, through digital economy, we can expand the public economic opportunities, especially in Cikeusik and Pandeglang," he remarked.

Meanwhile, Ammarina said that Agrinex Village is 100-percent environment-friendly. Fruit waste from the village is put in the ground to reduce environmental waste, she informed.

Furthermore, falling leaves are never swept, but used as humus for plants, she added.

"Alhamdulillah (Thank God), now Agrinex village has produced 80 percent of fruits we planted. So, we planted over 57 (varieties of) fruits from all Indonesian parts and, Alhamdulillah, they thrived and produced fruits of good quality," she remarked.
