Merak (ANTARA) - Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs, Hadi Tjahjanto, assured smooth and safe travel for everyone during this year's Eid al-Fitr homecoming exodus, stating the government will provide the finest services to ensure travelers arrive safely at their destinations.

"We will continue to provide the finest services in order to ensure the homecoming exodus runs smoothly, with all travelers arriving safely at their destinations," he said while inspecting homecoming readiness at Merak Port in Banten on Monday.

He highlighted that the government has taken a range of measures to make this year's Eid homecoming a success, including reviewing security and safety on toll roads, national roads, and ports, as well as preparing security posts and service posts.

"Everything has been prepared to provide optimal services to people planning on joining the Eid homecoming exodus," he pointed out.

In the event of road traffic congestion, he added, relevant stakeholders will immediately respond by identifying alternative routes.

He said that to deal with congestion at ports, stakeholders will utilize parking lots to accommodate vehicles and increase the number of operating ships.

He also advised people seeking to travel on ships to order their tickets via digital applications one day prior to departure.

Tjahjanto reminded people planning to use private vehicles of the importance of making the most of rest areas to recover from fatigue and drowsiness.

"We hope that all travelers will arrive safely and gather with families in their hometowns," he said.
