Jakarta (ANTARA) - State-owned telecommunication enterprise, PT Telkom Indonesia, has affirmed its full support for holding the G20 Summit scheduled in Bali.

“It is an honor for the TelkomGroup to be given the task and responsibility to support connectivity at the international event for the G20 member state leaders,” Telkom’s President Director Ririek Adriansyah said in a press release issued here on Thursday.

Adriansyah highlighted his commitment to ensuring the provision of only world-class infrastructure and services at the event in terms of connectivity, platform, and digital service.

Offering top-class digital services at the event will be an important milestone for the company, as it had also supported national and international events, such as the Asian-African Conference, Asian Games, IMF-World Bank Annual Meeting, and the National Sports Week, he noted.

Indonesia will again serve as a host for the international event. The country, for the foremost time, has officially assumed the G20 presidency for a year from December 1, 2021, until November 2022 when the G20 Summit will be held.

Telkom has provided the backbone infrastructure, comprising the subsea cable communication system (SKKL), fiber optic communication system (SKSO), and the integrated backup system.

In terms of telecommunication service, the company has provided over two thousand access points both at the main venues and its surroundings, Telkomsel’s 7,561 base transceiver stations, and around 64 thousand ODP access connections at various locations.

Such services are readied for the 23 G20 venues in 15 cities across Indonesia. A total of 70 posts are involved for direct monitoring at the sites and for centralized monitoring. The infrastructure and service monitoring will use reliable and integrated IT tools.

Nearly two thousand staff and ground technicians are on standby to secure the service quality.

“With hard and smart work of all related parties, Telkom believes it can support to make the series of G20 activities successful. This will be a showcase of Indonesia’s greatness to the world. In addition, through digitalization, Indonesia can leapfrog to be at par with developed countries in the world,” Adriansyah remarked.
