Jakarta (ANTARA) - Directorate of Traffic of the Jakarta Metropolitan Police will conduct a crowd-free night (CFN) in 11 areas from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m. Western Indonesian Standard Time between December 31, 2021, and January 2, 2022.

"The implementation of CFN is extended from the New Year’s Eve as a precautionary measure against congregation of people on January 1-2, 2022, which falls on a weekend,” Traffic Director of the metropolitan police Senior Commissioner Sambodo Purnomo Yogo stated here on Thursday.

Hence, Yogo noted that in the event of the CFN not being enforced, the likelihood of crowds will be high.

Furthermore, he revealed that the 11 areas comprised Asia Africa Street; Gunawarman Street – Senopati Street – Sudirman Central Business District; Mahakam – Bulungan – Barito Streets; and Sudirman – Thamrin Roads.

In addition, the other areas included the Kota Tua, National Monument, Kemayoran, Pantai Indah Kapuk 2, Kemang, Jakarta East Flood Canal, and Sunter Lake.
