Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) handed out cash assistance to street vendors and those operating stalls at Gemolong Market, Sragen, and Purwodadi Public Market, Grobogan, Central Java, on Wednesday.

President Jokowi visited Gemolong Market, Sragen, on Wednesday, along with Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, Public Works and Public Housing Minister Basuki Hadimuljono, Governor of Central Java Ganjar Pranowo, and Deputy Head of Sragen District Suroto.

The information was quoted in an official release of the Press Bureau of the Presidential Secretariat.

The entourage then headed to Grobogan District to visit the Purwodadi Public Market. The head of state then distributed groceries and cash assistance after greeting the traders, who were working.

"This is for additional capital, yes," the president told the traders.

"Thank you, Mr. President," the traders stated.

Jokowi and the entourage then continued their journey to the Nglinduk 3 State Elementary School, Grobogan District, to observe up close the vaccination for children.

The president then headed to Blora District to officiate the Randugunting Dam.

Jokowi will continue his agenda by paying a visit to Semarang after boarding the Air Force's Super Puma helicopter. In the city, he will inaugurate the Johar Semarang Market and distribute cash assistance to street vendors in the front yard of Kauman Square, Semarang.

The president and his entourage are scheduled to return to Jakarta on Wednesday evening via the Ahmad Yani Army Main Air Base, Semarang, aboard the Indonesia-1 Presidential Aircraft.
