With 1,001,759 people receiving their first shot of the COVID-19 vaccine, the number of first dose recipients rose to 18,261,136, according to data received from the task force on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, the number of people receiving the third or booster dose rose by 4,209 to 1,348,413 as of Wednesday.
The government is seeking to administer the second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine to 208,265,720 people in order to build herd immunity.
Director general of public information and communication at the Communication and Informatics Ministry, Usman Kansong, said that as the host of the G20 Summit in 2022, Indonesia is targeting to vaccinate 70 percent of its population against the coronavirus this year.

To that end, he deemed vaccine availability necessary as the country has rolled out the COVID-19 booster vaccination campaign and children's vaccination drive.
"Despite the increasing needs, the government is committed to ensuring the availability of vaccines for the public," he said.
