We did not block any routes, considering the fact that the accommodation and event locations are located close to each other
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Jakarta Police made assurance of no road blockades during the two 2022 G20 Finance Meetings in Jakarta scheduled on February 15-18, 2022.

"We did not block any routes, considering the fact that the accommodation and event locations are located close to each other," Traffic Director of the Jakarta Police Senior Commissioner Sambodo Purnomo Yogo stated here on Monday.

Yogo noted that the traffic closure would be brief and solely when the delegation contingent was passing by after which the road would be reopened.

"Hence, the Asia Afrika Road, Pemuda Street, and then around GBK can still be (used) by the public and only be closed when the delegation contingent passes by and at certain times according to the (priority)," he remarked.

The Jakarta Police will also not close the toll roads. Officers will only escort the delegation groups to prioritize them.

Traffic officers would also be dispatched to escort the group of G20 delegates from the airport to their accommodation at the Fairmont Hotel and Mulia Hotel.

Jakarta will host the 2nd Finance and Central Bank Deputy (FCBD) and 1st Finance Minister Central Bank Governor (FMCBG) meetings.

The two meetings will take place at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC), Senayan building, on January 15-18, 2022.

A total of 547 personnel from the national defense force, police force, and Jakarta Provincial Government were deployed to guard the two meetings.
