Jakarta (ANTARA) - State-owned Enterprises (SOE) Minister Erick Thohir has said he has three big dreams for SOEs, and one of them is SOEs' bigger contribution to the nation.

"Again, if it's not just my wishful thinking, it's how to enable SOEs to give bigger contribution to the country. That's number one," Erick Thohir wrote on his official Instagram account @erickthohir here on Sunday.

Second, the number of SOEs would be smaller but larger in terms of their footprints. Third, it's to optimize the role of SOE services to the community.

His three wishes have Key Performance Indicators or KPIs. In fact, Erick Thohir has pushed for a blueprint for SOEs for the next 10 years.

He hoped that his successor and next SOE directors could continue the policies that have been running so far.

"We have to ratify these. The policies of all the leaders before us were good and there are things that need to be improved," he said.

Previously, Thohir said that state-owned companies exist to give the greatest benefit to the state.

The profits from SOEs are of course for the nation and are channeled through various programs such as development, improvement of welfare and the economy for the people.

Hence, the Ministry of SOEs continues to make various sustainable programs with other parties to improve the quality of life of the Indonesian people, such as by implementing business assistance programs, especially for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), and offering scholarships and others on an ongoing basis.

In distributing its corporate social responsibility (CSR) funds, he urged every state-owned company to make programs that are right on target, and to ensure that the CSR budget is not wasted.
