In addition, there is a lithium battery development center in the city that will support a sustainable technology ecosystem.Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesia will hold the first 2022 G20 Trade, Investment, and Industry Working Group (TIIWG) meeting in Solo City, Central Java Province, on March 29-31, 2022.
Director of Regional and Multilateral Cooperation of the Investment Ministry/Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) Fajar Usman confirmed during an online discussion on Wednesday that three 2022 G20 TIIWG meetings will be held.
"We will collaborate with the Trade Ministry and Industry Ministry for holding the meetings,” he remarked.
Usman noted that the first meeting will be chaired by the Industry Ministry. Meanwhile, the Investment Ministry will hold the second meeting in Solo City on June 6-9, 2022.

"The third meeting will take place in Labuan Bajo, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) Province, on September 19-20, 2022. It will be followed by a ministerial-level meeting on September 21-23, 2022, hosted by the Trade Ministry," the Investment Ministry's official stated.
Usman noted that Solo was selected as the location for the first two meetings since the city is assessed to have implemented sustainable development principles that address one of the topics -- sustainable investment -- raised by the 2022 G20 TIIWG.

All meetings are planned to be held in a hybrid manner. Thus, currently, the government is preparing to welcome the participants, who will attend the meetings in person.
Speaking in connection with the second meeting to be hosted by the Investment Ministry, Usman affirmed that 156 delegates from G20 members, several invited countries, and various international organizations are projected to attend the meeting in person.

By conducting several activities on the sidelines of the meetings, such as visiting various tourism attractions and exhibiting local micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) products, Usman expressed optimism that the meetings would also have huge economic impacts for the community.
Furthermore, Usman said his side also plans to hold an investment and business forum that involves the private sector during the 2022 G20 TIIWG meetings.
"We are optimistic of being able to secure huge investment from G20 members, both through the government-to-government (G2G) scheme and business-to-business (B2B) scheme. Hence, we will offer them various interesting projects," he added.
