Amin noted that based on the minister's report, the supply of all food stocks was safe until Eid al-Fitr.
"It is important to control the price of staple goods. Usually, during Ramadan, there is an increase in the prices of staple goods. Hence, we must take precautionary steps to avoid further spikes," Amin noted.

Through the AWR, Amin also greeted farmers, agriculture instructors, and local government officials, who virtually joined the meeting from their respective locations.
The vice president emphasized the importance of cooperation from all parties to strengthen Indonesia's food security.
Amin believes that through sound cooperation, various efforts made to strengthen the food sector in Indonesia will be well implemented, especially for ensuring food availability ahead of the month of Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr.
Ending his visit, Amin lauded the efforts by the Agriculture Ministry that was able to increase and maintain the productivity of several food commodities, such as rice. In the past two years, the ministry was able to cut the imports of medium-grain rice.
The Agriculture Ministry also contributed positively to the agriculture sector to support the national economy during the pandemic.
The vice president advised that such efforts should be stepped up for other food commodities, so that the certainty of food stocks and prices could reach a fair balance point for farmers and consumers.
