The figure may increase since we have established good cooperation with PPATK (Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center).Jakarta (ANTARA) - The National Police’s Criminal Investigation Department (Bareskrim) has confiscated assets worth more than Rp1.5 trillion from illegal investment providers.
“If I am not mistaken, (the assets) we have confiscated amount to more than Rp1.5 trillion. The figure may increase since we have established good cooperation with PPATK (Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center),” Bareskrim Chief Commissioner General Agus Andrianto informed a press conference, accessed online from Jakarta on Thursday.
He advised people who have fallen prey to illegal investment providers to set up an association and file a collective claim with the court in order to get their assets back.

“I call on (them) to form an association and make an inventory of their assets. Don’t let any of them be left because if the assets have been distributed among them and any of them has not received their assets, this will become a problem in future,” he added.
He also called on the people to remain cautious and selective when making investment decisions.

Be careful and don’t be easily tempted by investments offering high profit,” he said. also appealed to people to make sure that the party offering investment has secured a permit from the authorized agency.
People must understand the various modes of investment offered so that they do not fall victim to harmful lending practices, he said.
