Jakarta (ANTARA) - Bank Indonesia exhibited 72 of its fostered micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) of the Indonesian Sharia Creative Industry (IKRA) at the Indonesia Pavilion during the 2020 Dubai Expo.

According to an official statement received on Sunday, the exhibition, titled "Bank Indonesia Special Week," takes place on March 11-17, 2022.

"The exhibition is part of Indonesia’s 2022 G20 Presidency side event that raises the importance of the role of MSMEs as one of the G20 finance track agendas," Chief Executive Director of the Communications Department of Bank Indonesia Erwin Haryono stated.

Haryono drew attention to the plethora of superior MSMEs products, including jewelry, clothing, accessories, textiles, body care products, household knick-knacks, as well as food and beverages.

The Indonesian Pavilion has been introducing various MSMEs products at the 2020 Dubai Expo since November 2021 following meticulous curation to select the most quality products to attract business matching and demand for purchases from overseas business partners.

Furthermore, Bank Indonesia conducted a fashion show themed "Indonesia Modest Fashion Day" on March 13, 2022, presenting Muslim clothing made from Indonesian traditional fabrics (wastra) created by Indonesian designers.

In addition, Bank Indonesia held a series of business forums on March 14-17, 2022, which discussed various topics, including Indonesia's potential in the global halal industry, digitizing payment systems for an inclusive economy, and strengthening the role of MSMEs in global supply chains.

"Coffee Cupping event will also be held on March 17, 2022, to introduce the taste of authentic Indonesian coffee to visitors and attract potential buyers from all over the world," Haryono added.

According to the Indonesian Consulate General in Dubai, as of March 10, 2022, the Indonesian Pavilion had recorded 1,527,823 visitors.

The figure was equal to around eight percent of the total visitors at the expo in which hundreds of pavilions of various countries were featured.
