Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Communication and Informatics Ministry is providing technical support in the form of applications, bandwidth, and data centers to facilitate the utilization of the e-catalogue of the Government Goods and Services Procurement Policy Agency (LKPP).

"Thus, the auction process conducted through the LKPP e-catalogue can run smoothly," Communication and Informatics Minister Johnny G. Plate said during the ‘Affirmation Action for National Movement for Proud of Indonesian-made Products’ (Gernas BBI) conference held in Bali, according to a press release issued on Friday.

Earlier, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) had asked ministries and agencies to allocate at least 40 percent of their budget for the procurement of domestic products through the e-catalogue, he added.

Hence, the institutions must determine a spending commitment of at least Rp400 trillion by May 31, 2022, to realize the spending budget target, he said.

“Currently, the ministries, agencies, as well as regional governments have committed to spend Rp214 trillion of their communication and information technology budget through the business match-making process," he noted.

The Communication and Informatics Ministry has allocated Rp10.9 trillion, equivalent to 43.3 percent of its total expenditure. However, the figure may be increased to Rp11.6 trillion.

Meanwhile, regional governments have been urged to assist the local ultra-micro (UMi) as well as micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to register their products for the e-catalogue.

Furthermore, the minister said that he is aware that regional governments are also planning to prepare a type of debit card to facilitate regional budget spending.

His ministry has noted that the involvement of the digital ecosystem is required to facilitate government shopping transactions, such as by providing Quick Response Code Indonesia Standard (QRIS) issued by Bank Indonesia for digital payments.

Thus, the ministry will provide upstream and downstream information technology infrastructure support for the utilization of the LKPP e-catalogue, Plate said.

The government is targeting to include at least one million locally made products in the e-catalogue by the end of 2022. Currently, there are about 200 thousand local products in the e-catalogue.
