We will carry out monitoring regarding the food stock in Central Kalimantan area, especially in Palangka Raya city, to maintain the price stability of those commoditiesPalangka Raya, C Kalimantan (ANTARA) - Central Kalimantan Regional Police chief Inspector General Nanang Avianto assured of the availability of staple goods in the province ahead of Ramadan and Eid el-Fitr.
“The availability of staple goods in Central Kalimantan is still safe, and the price is also stable,” he said during an inspection of a traditional market here on Wednesday.
During the inspection, he was accompanied by the Deputy Governor of Central Kalimantan, Edy Pratowo; the Military Resort Command (Danrem) 102/Panju Panjung commander, Brig. Gen. Yudianto Putrajaya; head of the Central Kalimantan High Prosecutor's Office, Iman Wijaya; and a number of officials from relevant agencies in the province.

Based on the inspection, he said that there has been an increase in the price of staple goods. However, the increase is still deemed reasonable, he added.
He also stated that the distribution of staple goods—which mostly come from South Kalimantan province—in local cities has continued to run safely.
"We will carry out monitoring regarding the food stock in Central Kalimantan area, especially in Palangka Raya city, to maintain the price stability of those commodities," he affirmed.

The police chief further spoke about the availability of cooking oil in the province. According to him, the availability of cooking oil at distributors is still safe, and there will be no shortage.
Currently, the price of cooking oil has indeed increased, but the selling price in the market is still reasonable, he pointed out.
"The Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda) of Central Kalimantan, especially the Central Kalimantan Police, will not remain silent in monitoring the availability of staple goods in this province. If there is a price increase, of course, the food task force team will check to find out the cause," he added.
