Jakarta (ANTARA) - A 5.1-magnitude earthquake hit Banten Province on Friday afternoon, the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) stated.

The epicenter of the quake, which struck at 2:14 p.m. local time, was located 35 kilometers southwest of Bayah, Banten, at a depth of 10 kilometers, the agency reported.

The tremor was also felt in Jakarta, especially by those working in high-rise buildings.

No injuries or fatalities were reported.
