We have six derivative laws as a priority (for finalization), while other regulations could be issued by the Capital Authority Head or other relevant laws
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Six derivative laws of the National Capital Law, which will serve as a legal basis for the city's development and administration, will be prioritized for finalization, an official from the Presidential Staff Office (KSP) has informed.

"We have six derivative laws as a priority (for finalization), while other regulations could be issued by the Capital Authority Head or other relevant laws," KSP main expert Wandy Tuturoong said in Jakarta on Wednesday.

The first derivative law that will be prioritized is the Government Regulation on the Authority of the Nusantara Capital Authority, which would enhance the capital authority's agility and effectiveness, particularly in relation to the issuance of investment permits and ease of doing business.

The second derivative law will be the Government Regulation on Funding and Budgeting of the National Capital, which would serve as the legal basis for funding schemes available for the new capital’s development, he noted.

"The regulation will provide the basis for funding schemes available for the new capital and regulate what schemes are allowed or not," the main expert said.

The Presidential Regulation on the Nusantara National Capital's National Strategic Region Plan will be the third prioritized derivative law, he disclosed.

The Presidential regulation would provide the legal basis for area allocation in the new capital and delineate green areas, residential areas, and other areas, as well as regulate permitted construction projects in the capital area, he said.

The fourth prioritized derivative law will be the Presidential Regulation on the Specification of the Nusantara Capital Masterplan, which would lay down the basic principles and strategies for the new capital’s development, including the development tiers, Tuturoong noted.

The main expert said that the fifth derivative law will be the Presidential Regulation on Land Acquisition and Management, which will restrict land speculation by authorizing the Nusantara Capital Authority to control and restrict land rights transfers.

The sixth derivative law will be the Presidential Regulation on the Nusantara Capital Authority, which would delineate the authority's functions, duties, and structural hierarchy, he added.
